Groton Community Tree Lighting

GROTON COMMUNITY TREE LIGHTING
SUNDAY, DECEMBER 3, 2017 AT 4:00 PM
The Groton Interfaith Council will again host the annual Groton Community Tree Lighting ceremony on the front lawn of Union Congregational Church, Sunday, December 3 at 4:00 pm. The tree lighting ceremony will feature the singing of Christmas Carols, prayers and readings by Groton clergy, and music provided by members of the Groton Brass Ensemble and the Nashoba Valley Concert Band. Each year the Groton Interfaith Council honors a citizen or group of citizens by asking them to be the honorary tree lighters, an honor bestowed because they have made significant contributions to the town. This year we will be honoring Groton’s First Responders. Representatives of the Groton Police Department and the Groton Fire Department will light the tree.

Immediately following the tree lighting, Union Congregation Church will host a reception inside the church with warm drinks and homemade cookies.

The event is free and open to the public.
